We now have over 50 regular contacts from outside the village and we would like to thank you all for the interesting and enthusiastic messages we are receiving. So that we can keep our files up to date, it would be very helpful if you could let us know your current research interests, and if you are prepared to share data with others interested in the same family or topic. As you know, we are not a family history society as such, but we do very much value the help which family narratives can provide for wider studies of the village heritage.

For those of you who live not too far away, may we remind you that there will be an archive exhibition in the village school from Thursday 16th August until Sunday 19th August between 11 am and 4.30 pm. Please visit us if you can.

We shall be selling copies of our newly published book, FONTMELL MAGNA HERITAGE – A COMMUNITY STUDY. Those of you in the UK who would like to receive a copy by post should send a cheque for £15 (post free) made payable to Fontmell Magna Village Archive Society, to FMVAS, Brambledown, West Street, Fontmell Magna, Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 0PF. Members of the Society are entitled to a £3 discount. If you live outside the UK, please contact us by email first because we can only accept orders in pounds sterling.
